Home   Our Story Sample Trips FAQ Global Community

Global VolunTourism was created in 2005 as a logical complement of our two companies, Global Spectrum and Global Community Service Foundation (GCSF). Travelling and travelers are changing; many of us are looking for something more to add to our travel experience. We are more aware of the global world and are hungry to give back to the communities that we are visiting. GCSF has been working in Southeast Asia for almost 20 years, and has a well established network of organizations that are delighted to welcome volunteers to work side-by-side with their staff and experience the countries at a community level.

We create volunteer experiences based on your interests, skill set, destination and dates of travel. We have partnerships in Bhutan, Burma, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, and Viet Nam, so finding the right volunteering opportunity for you is the easy part, just tell us what you want to do, and we’ll do the rest!

Global Spectrum, a Southeast Asia travel specialist founded in 1992, combines its intelligence, know-how and travel consulting expertise to ensure a rich and rewarding experience for travelers to the region. The Washington, D.C. area-based travel company develops customized trips for individuals, families and groups—from 2 to 200 people. Global Spectrum was the first U.S.-based travel company to operate in Vietnam following the war. The company also offers special programs for military veterans, arts aficionados, amateur photographers, culinary enthusiasts plus many more.

Global Community Service Foundation is a Washington, D.C. area-based nonprofit organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the U.S. Internal Revenue Code. The foundation works to reduce poverty in Southeast Asia through the development and implementation of sustainable community-based projects in Bhutan, Burma, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand and Viet Nam. GCSF is the philanthropic arm of Global Spectrum.
